    Hello

Aberdeen Youth Choir is currently seeking Group Volunteers who will assist the Senior Group Leader and Group Assistants with teaching during the choir sessions.

This would be an ideal position for an undergraduate music student who would appreciate an opportunity to practice some rhythm games and songs.

Please send your CV to aberdeenyouthchoir@hotmail.co.uk

    Many thanks

  • The Aberdeen Youth Choir began in October 2009 and provides free specialist group singing tuition for children in the regeneration areas of Aberdeen. Since its creation, the choir has made a significant impact on the local community, with several alumni receiving full scholarships for competitive national musical theatre groups. The choir has also created a great legacy of performing and welcoming everyone; we have collaborated with a number of major organisations such as the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, to the Aberdeen Hip-hop school and Hidden Aberdeen, a local historical tour company.

AYC have started a Kickstarter campaign, to raise funds for our first ever choir CD:

    This is our link: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/806394394/aberdeen-youth-choir-cd-project

People can donate from £3 up to £750, and receive a mention in the liner notes, to a birthday greeting, to their own concert, or even become a community music apprentice.

I would really appreciate it if you could help us to spread the word of our campaign.

    Many thanks

    Jayne

Aberdeen Youth Choir has been running in Northfield since October 2009. We offer free group singing tuition for children aged 8 – 18yrs living in the regeneration areas of Aberdeen. We have been awarded seed funding from Aberdeen City Council to have four workshops in March 2013 to gauge the level of interest for opening a Torry branch of AYC.

As a group assistant with AYC, you will help us to encourage the young people in our choir to sing as best they can. You don’t have to be able to read sheet music or to play any musical instruments. We just want someone who loves singing, is friendly and approachable, and is willing to learn some new musical skills.

Group Assistants are paid £25 per session, payable by invoice to AYC. The sessions will be at Old Torry community centre 4pm – 6pm on Tuesday 5th/12th/19th/26th March.

Please send your CV to me jayne@musicisourforte.co.uk to apply or to request a full job description.
